Gambian Chief Justice visited the Commercial High Court and Mediation Centre
The Chief Justice of the Gambia, Hon. Hassan Bubacar Jallow, visited the Commercial High Court and the Mediation Center located in Nyarugenge District, where he expressed his appreciation for Rwanda’s overall development, and in particular, the progress of its justice system following the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
He expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in the areas of mediation and plea bargaining, which he noted are rooted in African traditions—where conflicts between parties are resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding, in contrast to the often adversarial and rigid approaches found in some European systems.
