The Judiciary of Rwanda, in partnership with Unicef Rwanda –kuri buri mwana-, organized a one-day Technical Workshop on the Chief Justice’s draft Instructions on Child Justice. The workshop aimed to strengthen the implementation of child-friendly justice procedures, ensure the uniform application of the law, and enhance coordination among key stakeholders.

The event was officially opened by the Hon. Deputy Chief Justice, Alphonse Hitiyaremye, who underscored that these draft Instructions represent more than a legal instrument; they embody the Judiciary’s collective commitment to establishing a justice system that places the best interests of the child at its core.

Ms. Lieke van de Wiel, UNICEF’s Country Representative to Rwanda, reaffirmed UNICEF’s continued partnership with Rwanda in its remarkable efforts to strengthen the national childcare and child protection system.
